Ex-Bridgeport official cleared of sex abuse

For the past three years, Patrick Coyne , the former chief of staff for ex-Bridgeport mayor Joseph Ganim lived with the stigma of being an accused pedophile. At about 11:30 a.m., the jury, which had been considering Coyne's fate since Monday afternoon, sent a note to Judge Elepedio Vitale informing him they found the former political appointee not guilty of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
