Two days before the shooting death of Jose Salgado, a Bridgeport grocery store clerk, New Haven police arrested Treizy Lopez, 18, of New Haven, on motor vehicle theft charges. Lopez, a suspect in Salgado's murder, was taken into police custody after being arrested for riding a scooter that was reported stolen.
