Greenwich Teen Faces Car Burglary Charge

An 18-year-old Greenwich resident is facing a third-degree burglary charge in connection with an incident early Sunday in the Byram neighborhood of town. Police were sent to the neighborhood shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday on a report of a "suspicious male who was looking into parked cars" in the area of Mill and North Water streets, according to a police report.

Local man accused of entering vehicle on North Water Street

Keanu Meza , 18 of 7 South New St., Greenwich, was charged with burglary in the third degree in connection with a vehicle break-in on Sunday around 1 a.m. Police said they received a report of a man peering into cars on North Water Street in Byram, and Meza was accused on entering a convertible and searching through it.

Tag sale raises money for ill child

A tag sale was held on Byram Terrace Drive in Greenwich for a boy named Bryce. Friends of Bryce's family say that he has a congenital melanocytic nevus, a mole he was born with which has progressed into a brain tumor.

Greenwich firefighters rescue fall victim

According to the fire department, crews were dispatched to the area of Buena Vista Drive for the report of a fall down at the Byram River. Firefighters tell News 8 the victim fell 75 feet down the embankment.

Greenwich Land Trust Adds 4 Acres Of Woodlands To Its Preserves

"We are delighted to receive this beautiful land that provides extensive wildlife habitat while protecting a section of the Byram River watershed," Janice Trebbi Richards, the trust's board president, said in a press release. Situated near 30 additional acres of open space permanently protected by the Greenwich Land Trust, the new Minguez Preserve is heavily wooded with beautiful specimens of sugar maples, beeches and black oaks, according to a press release.
