Were it not Bridgeport, it would be essentially unremarkable, the news that sub-groups of the city's legislative body and school board are working together on a plan. The City Council's budget committee and the city Board of Education 's finance committee met last week to consider how the two groups can work in sync to lobby for money from the state to benefit Bridgeport's 22,000 public school children.
