A Bridgeport man charged last November with carjacking after his victim indicated to police who stopped the car at a DUI checkpoint that he was being held hostage by his passenger made a guilty plea to a reduced charge of kidnapping Thursday and will be sentenced to jail in early January. Michael Banks , 23, of Sage Ave., Bridgeport, made the guilty plea before Judge Gary White , who will sentence him to five years in jail when Banks returns to court on Jan. 9, 2015.
