A battle is looming before the chief judge, as federal prosecutors urge her to impose a five-year prison term on a Bridgeport man recorded discussing fitting a radio-controlled plane with explosives and flying it into a federal building and Harvard University. Assistant U.S. Attorney Krishna Patel is asking Chief U. S. District Judge Janet C. Hall to impose the maximum sentence for perjury on El Mahdi Semlali Fathi, a 27-year-old Moroccan national who had been living on High Ridge Drive in Bridgeport until his arrest in April by federal agents.
