The Elia Kazan true crime drama filmed in Stamford will be screened at the historical society on Sunday, May 17. Boomerang is a 1947 film based on the true story of a vagrant who was accused of murdering a priest, after the police are accused of incompetence and come under pressure to make an arrest. The events happened in Bridgeport, but that city refused to allow Kazan to film the movie there, so Stamford was the stand-in.
