Bridgeport woman arrested for unemployment fraud

Brenda Valentine, of Bridgeport, was arrested as a result of an investigation by the Unemployment Compensation Fraud Unit in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney following a complaint by the Connecticut Department of Labor. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Valentine fraudulently collected approximately $19,905 in unemployment benefits from July 2010 through Feb 2013 while she was employed and grossly under-reported her wages.
