A Milford man, William E. Chase, 69, was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to six months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for stealing his deceased mother's social security benefits for more than 25 years, according to Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut. According to court documents and statements made in court, Chase's mother, a Social Security benefits recipient, died in November 1988.
