A Bridgeport defendant charged in November 2013 with carjacking after his victim drove into a Stamford DUI checkpoint and told police he was being held at knifepoint by his passenger, was sentenced to five years in jail. Michael Banks, 24, of Sage Avenue, Bridgeport, appeared briefly at state Superior Court in Stamford Friday, where he was sentenced by Judge Richard Comerford after making a guilty plea in October to a charge kidnapping and admitting to violating his probation.
