Bridgeport's history is full of colorful crooks and characters -- and most of their stories can be found at the Bridgeport History Center in downtown or online at its relatively new website. On April, 30, 1935, Arthur Flegenheimer, known more commonly as the gangster and former bootlegger Dutch Schultz, and bodyguard Lulu Rosenkrantz made themselves at home in the fourth-floor suite at the Stratfield Hotel on Main Street.
