The addition of two late-night weekend trains on the Waterbury branch of Metro-North Railroad has increased weekend ridership more than the commuter rail line expected. Two new trains have been running since Nov. 9. One leaves Waterbury at 10:10 p.m. and the other departs Bridgeport at 11:41 p.m. The Republican-American reports the total number of riders is about 160 on the additional trains during an average weekend, or 30 more than what Metro-North initially projected.
