Within two weeks, the city and school board have been promised a preliminary decision on a plan to make the former GE industrial site off Boston Avenue clean enough for a new Harding High School . The much anticipated notice of determination by the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection , which will be published in a public notice in the newspaper, will trigger a 45-day public comment period and a public hearing that is expected to bring a new wave of opposition from those who feel the land simply cannot be made safe.
