Ridgefield man pleads guilty to dragging woman under car

A Greenwich waiter who dragged a Middlebury woman under his vehicle for more than 300 yards pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. Vyacheslay Cherepov , now 28, had just gotten off work at a Byram restaurant at 2:10 a.m. Dec. 28, 2013, and was pulling out of a parking space of a Williams Street parking lot when he somehow rolled his car over Meghan Beebe , who had been standing in the parking lot with a friend.

Ex-Waiter Pleads Guilty in Greenwich Dragging Death of Woman

A 21-year-old woman died after she dragged by a car for about 1,000 feet in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich in 2013. The former waiter, who was accused of manslaughter in the dragging death of a woman in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich in December 2013 has agreed to plea bargain deal in which the manslaughter charge will be dropped and he will serve five years in jail.

Greenwich Teen Faces Car Burglary Charge

An 18-year-old Greenwich resident is facing a third-degree burglary charge in connection with an incident early Sunday in the Byram neighborhood of town. Police were sent to the neighborhood shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday on a report of a "suspicious male who was looking into parked cars" in the area of Mill and North Water streets, according to a police report.

Greenwich Land Trust Adds 4 Acres Of Woodlands To Its Preserves

"We are delighted to receive this beautiful land that provides extensive wildlife habitat while protecting a section of the Byram River watershed," Janice Trebbi Richards, the trust's board president, said in a press release. Greenwich Man Is Charged with Violating Order of Protection, Harassment

Thomas J. Barter, 46, of 22 Cedar St., was arrested Tuesday when he appeared in state Superior Court in Stamford for another matter, according to a Greenwich Police report. A Connecticut judge has allowed a University of Bridgeport soccer player accused of rape to go free after dropping his $50,000 bail to a promise to appear in court. They are part of Bridgeport's community of undocumented immigrants that officials and activists believe will benefit from a municipal identification card program likely to be a last minute addition to the city budget. Discussions between members and Mayor Bill Finch 's office are underway to include possibly $200,000 or $300,000 set aside for rolling out IDs at some point in the coming fiscal year that begins July 1. "The administration's working with the council to ensure there are funds in the budget for it and to figure out revenue streams for it as well," Finch spokesman Brett Broesder said Friday.
