Frank J. Rupp Sr.: World War II Veteran; Retired Town of Greenwich Employee

Raised in Byram, Ct., he attended New Lebanon School and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1937. Frank then joined the Civilian Conservation Corps , and was stationed in Wyoming where he was involved in re-forestation projects.

Ridgefield man pleads guilty to dragging woman under car

A Greenwich waiter who dragged a Middlebury woman under his vehicle for more than 300 yards pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. Vyacheslay Cherepov , now 28, had just gotten off work at a Byram restaurant at 2:10 a.m. Dec. 28, 2013, and was pulling out of a parking space of a Williams Street parking lot when he somehow rolled his car over Meghan Beebe , who had been standing in the parking lot with a friend.

Ex-Waiter Pleads Guilty in Greenwich Dragging Death of Woman

A 21-year-old woman died after she dragged by a car for about 1,000 feet in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich in 2013. The former waiter, who was accused of manslaughter in the dragging death of a woman in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich in December 2013 has agreed to plea bargain deal in which the manslaughter charge will be dropped and he will serve five years in jail.

Greenwich Historical Society seeks landmark homes

This home at 44 Kakum Wood Road earned a Landmark plaque from the Greenwich Historical Society last year making it one of nearly 300 buildings in Greenwich that have been recognized since the society's Landmark Recognition Program was established in 1987.
