Bridgeport receives 2,000 applications for police officer jobs

A recent police recruitment effort drew more than 2,000 applications from men and women who want to become officers, city police said. "I want to thank the Bridgeport Guardians and the Bridgeport Hispanic Society for their support," Mayor Bill Finch said Sunday.
