James A. Amann, the former speaker of the House from Milford, warned Thursday that the state is in danger of being left behind in the potential revenue streams being developed by racetracks in New York and the planned casino in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Amann, lobbying for the Shoreline Star in Bridgeport, the former dog track which is now a pari-mutuel simulcast facility, asked the General Assembly's Public Safety Committee to allow slot machines there, at Sports Haven in New Haven and at the Bradley Teletheater in Windsor Locks.
