Bridgeport's conflict of interest proposal debated

Warning the public trust is eroding in Connecticut's largest city, Bridgeport lawmakers called on the Legislature Friday to close a loophole in the state law that allows city employees to serve on the City Council. Six of the 20 members of the Democrat-dominated Council are on the city's payroll, including the group's president.
