Seaside solar panels battle comes to close

The Connecticut Siting Council on Thursday approved United Illuminating's plan to install 9,000 solar panels and a fuel cell at a closed Bridgeport landfill, ending an unexpectedly long battle over what City Hall had considered a slam dunk project. But Siting Council members -- sensitive to concerns of critics who feared the aesthetic impact on adjacent Seaside Park --will have the final say on the actual site plans.
