One of the hallmarks of the administration of Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch has been a well-placed effort toward addressing blight in the city. Sometimes it must seem akin to shoveling against the tide, but since taking office in 2007, Finch has pressed on the issue, not only with high-profile examples like creating a waterfront park along the industrial corridor of Knowlton Street, which runs along the east bank of the Pequonnock River, but also by picking away at the small cases that mar neighborhoods.
