Advocate for pari-mutuel industry calls for slot machines at OTB facilities

Hartford A former state House speaker who now advocates for gambling interests called Thursday for the legislature to move quickly to protect the jobs and revenue generated by the pari-mutuel industry as well as the Indian-owned casinos in southeastern Connecticut. "Inaction is not what we should be doing," said Jim Amann, whose lobbying firm represents Shoreline Star, a Bridgeport pari-mutuel facility.
