Traffic crack-down welcome

From inside the editorial offices of the Connecticut Post , at the corner of State Street and Lafayette Boulevard in downtown Bridgeport, people can hear -- and they hear it more than they should -- the sound of a city problem: the crunching and crashing of colliding cars at that intersection. It is but one intersection in the city, of course, but it's as good an example as any of the motor vehicle mayhem that the city and the Bridgeport Police Department are trying to address with a new "safe streets" campaign.
