It was a bad time for a truck fire. It happened during rush hour on Interstate 95 Thursday afternoon -- and just before a major holiday weekend, no less. A 58-year-old Westport man was killed late Friday after falling off a boat while returning from the town's fireworks display, police said.

Two local men were arrested after separate hit-and-run incidents Friday night. Oziel Ribeiro, 36, of Huntington Road, was arrested after allegedly fleeing in his car, which had side-swiped an ice cream truck at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Wheeler Avenue.
