Bayusik was born April 7, 1926, to Michael G. Bembera and Virginia Lillian Stafford Bembera. She graduated from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and a Masters in Education from the University of Bridgeport.
