Controversial ex-Bridgeport Schools Superintendent Paul Vallas, who left the city earlier this year to run for lieutenant governor of Illinois, was rebuffed at the polls Tuesday. Gov. Pat Quinn and Vallas, his running mate, conceded the race Wednesday to Republican Bruce Rauner, according to The Chicago Tribune.
