Bridgeport and United Illuminating acquired initial siting approval Thursday for their plan to construct a large solar array and fuel cell alongside the city's Seaside Park, a 2-mile-long crescent park designed by Frederick Olmstead. The 11-acre solar array will perch atop a landfill that runs alongside the park, according to plans filed with the Connecticut Siting Council.
