An apparently despondent 23-year-old Jackman Avenue man, who poured gasoline around his family's home early Friday morning, was committed to St. Vincent 's Medical Center in Bridgeport on an emergency basis. The incident began when the man came home from a bar around 2 a.m. Friday, apparently intoxicated and upset that a homeless man to whom he gave a ride had apparently stolen his cell phone.
