Fire and police marine units were scrambled Saturday night to rescue a boater whose vessel became disabled after striking Penfield Reef. A report was received about 8 p.m. Saturday at the town's Emergency Communications Center from the Bridgeport Fire Department that a boater was believed to be in distress in Fairfield waters.
