Women charged with attempted auto theft fraud

Lina Corchado , 36, of Nordstrand Avenue, turned herself in at police headquarters Thursday, while her friend, Jenny Valentin , 35, of Connecticut Avenue, Bridgeport, was arrested on a warrant Wednesday. Corchado, who owned the 2009 Jeep Patriot, was charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, falsely reporting a stolen motor vehicle and second-degree falsely reporting an incident.
