Officials: Derailment was missed red flag of railroad's cutting corners on safety

It was a routine Friday rush hour last May 17 in Bridgeport when a new set of M8 cars whizzing toward its final destination of State Street at 70 mph jumped a section of broken track in Bridgeport and was struck by a westbound train.
