Curious interest in city finances

While it's admirable that Bridgeport's 20-member, all- Democrat City Council has suddenly decided in this, the year 2013 -- an election year for them, by the way -- to get serious about the city budget, their proposal to hire a financial consultant is sure a puzzling one.
