Explosion In Milford Home Causes Fire In Three Houses (The Hartford Courant)
An explosion inside a house on Edgefield Avenue sparked a fire that spread to two other homes around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Milford Fire Department Capt. BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- An expert in cheerleading has testified that cheerleading should not be a competitive sport, saying that making it so would threaten "classical sideline cheerleading." Jeff Webb, CEO of the cheeringleading organization Varsity Spirit, testified Tuesday in federal court in Bridgeport in a lawsuit against Quinnipiac University.
Bridgeport men face more charges for crime spree (Connecticut Post)
Two Bridgeport men charged in a multi-town robbery spree were arraigned on new charges Tuesday after Stamford police said they burglarized a south end antique store last summer, taking off with more than $45,000 worth of jewels. The 4-year-old boy began to panic and cry as he watched his mother drive away very early Saturday morning in a black sports utility vehicle, according to witnesses.
A Fairfield woman has been charged with fleecing her live-in grandmother out of more than $16,000. Kathryn Stine, 29, of Nutmeg Lane, was charged Friday with first-degree identity theft, second-degree larceny, second-degree forgery, credit card theft, illegal use of credit cards and receiving goods obtained illegally.
