Oxford Man Pleads Guilty of Defrauding Clients; Uses Money for Personal Use

For a three year period Robert E. Lee Jr., 50, of Oxford defrauded individuals of more than $800,000 by claiming he was investing their money when in reality he was using the money for his own personal expenses, federal officials said late Wednesday. Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Lee pleaded guilty today in Bridgeport federal court to an indictment charging him with five counts of wire fraud stemming from his operation of a Ponzi scheme.
