Simsbury Teen Places Among Top 5 In American Songwriting Awards Competition

It all started when Lisa Heller was 15 and rewrote the lyrics to the song "Hey, Soul Sister" to "Hey, Grandmother" to perform for her grandmother's birthday. Since then, the 18-year-old Simsbury native has written 26 original songs - two of which were recognized at this year's American Songwriting Awards.
