Correction officer accused of smuggling

Joseph A. Trotman , 44, an officer at the Bridgeport Community Correctional Center , was charged Wednesday with an attempt to convey contraband into a correctional facility and an attempt to distribute narcotics, following an undercover operation by state Department of Correction officials and members of the State Police Gang Unit.
