But Who Is Going To Be The Source Of That Republican Funding That Shelton Resident Dan Debicella Is Despairingly Seeking?

It looks that some of that funding may have been arranged in Greenwich last Tuesday night.

Billionaire Steve Cohen just hosted a "Fancy Nancy" dinner party at his over-sized mansion in Greenwich to ensure his that his brand new favorite political party - The Republicans - win this November.

SAC Capital's Billionaire Hedge Fund Manager Steve Cohen recently made a big shift in donor allegiance from Democrat to Republican.

At a meeting at his house on Tuesday night, Cohen and other large Hedge Fund donors told Republican political party operatives that they did night like financial reform.

Cohen's SAC has switched sides over the financial reform issue in 2010 he gave 93% ($193,000 of $207,000)of his political donations to his new "no financial industry regulation" buddies in the republican party.

Previously, Mr. Cohen was part of the Dodd Squad.and gave 71% to the Democrats in 2008. Most of it went to Senator Chris Dood who was running for President and still is a ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee.

Ultra Secretive New York City Billionaire Bruce Kovner of Caxton Associates, Paul Singer of Elliott Management and Fox News Contributor Daniel Senor of Rosemont Capital all said that they will throw there money behind Republican or any other candidates who will stop regulation of the derivative and hedge fund industry.

A Connecticut man arrested on allegations he coached his 8-year-old neighbor to swear and posted a video of it on YouTube says he's shocked the child's family turned him in to police.

Thirty-four-year-old Bridgeport resident Josh Eastman said Thursday he didn't encourage the boy to spew profanity and recorded the clip because the boy developed a reputation in the neighborhood for swearing.

Police say Eastman was charged with impairing the morals of a child after the boy's mother alerted authorities of a clip titled "Swearing Kid." Eastman posted $2,500 bail and is due in court Sept. 8.

Eastman says his relatives and the boy's were friendly and he would have taken the video down if they had asked.

A police spokesman says the video has been removed.

With the general election just two months and a week away Fourth District GOP hopeful Dan Debicella has some of his university colleagues strongly speaking out about his ethics.

Mr Debicella's university classmates say that the Penn Undergraduate Assembly tried to impeach, the then-Wharton Business School member, as its chair.

According to the university newspaper, The Daily Pennsylvanian, many Penn Undergraduate Assembly members have accused Mr. Debicella of lying about several issues on more than one occasion.

However, the Penn Undergraduate Assembly failed to get all required signatures for an impeachment and the effort ended with an ethical cloud hanging over Mr. Debicella.

Penn alumni cannot recall a previous attempt or any other recent attempt to impeach and Undergraduate Assembly chair for unethical conduct.

It looks like Mr. Debicella's case was the one and only impeachment attempt of a Penn Undergraduate Assembly chairman.

One of Mr. Debicella's classmates is Lance Rogers, who is the County Commissioner of Merion Pennsylvania and has been quoted in the press as saying, "I remember there was an impeachment. I remember a number of us were dissatisfied with his conduct."

Mr. Rogers, who is a fellow politician and is running for a state senate seat has also been quoted as saying that Mr. Debicella had "repeatedly misrepresented himself."

Mr Rogers also has stated, "He got caught and called out on it. He was visibly shaken and upset."

Several Penn alumni have confirmed that the Undergraduate Assembly had moved to impeach Debicella for being dishonest.

Character issues have repeated came up in recent months in the 4th Congressional District Of Connecticut.

Dan Debicella greatly benefited as concerns about Rob Merkle's character were raised.

Fairfield County voters were shocked to learn of Rob Merkle's voting record and that Mr. Merkle had been arrested for drug possession.

Wakeman Boys & Girls Club to Break Ground on Bridgeport Clubhouse September 16

More than 1,000 children in grades 3 - 12 to benefit

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - August 25, 2010 - Officials from the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club will join residents from Bridgeport's West End and Black Rock neighborhoods to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new seven million dollar Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse on Thursday, September 16 at 3:30 P.M. Located on land adjacent to the Burroughs Community Center, 2470 Fairfield Avenue, this unique urban-suburban partnership is creating a new Clubhouse that will bring nationally acclaimed Boys & Girls Club of America programs to more than 1,000 Bridgeport children in grades three through 12. Joining the celebration will be Joel Smilow, philanthropist, and elected officials including Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and City Council President Tom McCarthy. The event is free and open to the public.

"To be able to open this Clubhouse in a neighborhood where there is such a clear need for children's programs is very rewarding," stated David W. Blagys, executive director, Wakeman Boys & Girls Club. "Volunteers have spent countless hours of their time, energy and resources to make this happen and we're almost there. We are still accepting donations - every gift, large and small, makes a difference."

The Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse will be a 23,000 square foot building featuring a nearly 8,000 square foot gymnasium that will have seating for 250, a teen center, game room, arts and science center, technology center, community room, two learning centers, a café and kitchen, and a multi-purpose room for dances, fitness and yoga programs. Boys & Girls Clubs of America programming focuses on five areas including education and career development, character and leadership development, the arts, health and life skills, and sports, fitness and recreation. The Clubhouse is expected to be completed by summer 2011.

Burroughs Community Center sold the property to Wakeman Boys & Girls Club for one dollar and the Bridgeport City Council has granted all the approvals required for the project. To build and operate the Clubhouse for the first year will require approximately seven million dollars, all of which is being raised through private donations. Joel Smilow, a local philanthropist and passionate advocate for Boys & Girls Clubs, jumpstarted the fundraising with a $1.5 million donation. To date, $6.3 million has been raised.

Bridgeport's West End and Black Rock neighborhoods were a logical choice for the location both because of the synergy with Burroughs Community Center and the demographics of the surrounding area:

* 2,500 children live within a half mile of the new Clubhouse;
* English is not the first language spoken in 36% of the homes;
* More than 65% of households are led by a single mother; and
* Nearly 60% of families live below the poverty line.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America offers life changing experiences by providing hope and opportunity when and where it is needed. The Smilow-Burroughs Clubhouse will offer afterschool tutoring and homework help, build self esteem and confidence, enhance opportunities for self expression, address childhood obesity, and promote social responsibility.

For too long, insurance companies in many States have increased health insurance premiums with little oversight, transparency, or public accountability. Health insurance premiums have doubled on average during the last 10 years, much faster than wages and inflation, putting health coverage out of reach for millions of Americans and business owners. Today, just 26 States and the District of Columbia have the authority to reject a proposed increase that is excessive, lacks justification or otherwise exceeds State standards. Many States that have the authority lack resources to exercise it meaningfully. This lack of authority and resources for States has unfortunately contributed to unjustified premium increases in some States.
“The Affordable Care Act puts in place critical market reforms to improve quality and reduce the cost of health care for employers and individuals. Increased competition, lower insurance overhead, and better risk pooling in health insurance Exchanges in 2014 are expected to reduce premiums in the individual market by anywhere from 14-20 percent according to the Congressional Budget Office,” said Secretary Sebelius. “Between now and then, we will continue to work with States to ensure consumers are receiving value for their premium dollars and to avoid the kind of double digit premium increases seen recently. The State proposals approved today demonstrate the need and desire for new resources and tools to help them protect against unjustifiable premium increases.”
